Now that I, the writer of this blog, understand a bit more about how this particular blog site works, I will post items to it as I find them rather than trying, as I stated in the original introduction (see below), to keep this information in some type of chronological order. The information will always be related to the ship, L'Indien or the South Carolina, and will be presented as I find this information. Thus, there will not be any effort at strictly keeping this information in chronological, historical order. Yet, my hope is that the readers of this blog will find all of this information pertinent to the ship, her officers, crew and passengers. So, with that said, read on...

AuthorIn 2020, William S. Covington, Jr. retired after having been involved in the field of education since 1987. Most recently, he was an instructor of Social Studies at Waxahachie Global High School located in Waxahachie, TX. He was also an adjunct instructor of Western Civilization at Navarro College, also located in Waxahachie, TX. In his spare time and since 1999, he has been an 18th century re-enactor and presenter of the American Revolution who does many presentations through out each year to interested groups. He has been a member of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Arlington, TX Chapter since April 2013. He has been married to June Renee Jacobsen Covington since May 3, 1986.
